Teresa A. O’Malley

O’Malley, of Revere, formerly of Boston and Clifden, County Galway, Ireland, who passed away on May 11th, following a long illness. She was 84 years of age. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., REVERE at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
She is the devoted daughter of the late Michael and Mary Anne (Nee’ McDonagh) O’Malley. Cherished sister of Mary E. Sweeney of Jamaica Plain, Agnes J. O’Malley of Revere, and the late Bridget J. Sweeney, Patrick Sweeney, and Martin Sweeney. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews and many friends.
Teresa was a longtime employee at Regina Cleri in Boston’s West End.

William J. “Billy” Motherway
Family & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 11th in St. Joseph-St. Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley St., East Boston at 11:00 a.m., for William J. “Billy” Motherway, who died on Monday, May 9th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a long illness, he would have celebrated his 70th birthday on May 24th.
Billy was a lifelong resident of Orient Heights in East Boston. He was educated in Boston Public Schools. He attended Boston English High School before transferring to East Boston High School. He was an alumnus of East Boston High School, Class of 1970. Billy began his working career with Abbruzze Paper Company as a truck driver. He worked there for many years before taking a leap in the Bar Business and owning & operating “The Victory Pub” located on the corner of Bennington St. & Saratoga Streets in East Boston. Billy proudly operated the Bar for over 20 years. When he later sold the bar, he went to work at the Boston Municipal Court as a Court officer. Many places Billy went, he made friends very easily and everyone loved him. He worked at the Court for 14 years, before he was forced to retire due to his declining health. Billy’s heart & soul was for his wife & son. Billy also enjoyed his many trips to Cape Cod every summer to be surrounded with his many cousins. These were memories that he treasured.
He is the devoted husband of 42 years to Patricia A. (Thompson) Motherway of Orient Heights, East Boston. Loving & proud father of Patrick “P.J.” Mazac & his companion Dena DiMarzo of East Boston & Peabody and their daughter Deanna DiMarzo of East Boston. Dear son of the late Rosemarie (White) Motherway. Wonderful son in law of Virginia A. “Dudie” Thompson of Orient Heights, East Boston. He is also lovingly survived by many cousins and lifelong friends.

Phyllis M. (Hart) Brady
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the Vertuccio & Smith, Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway, Revere for Phyllis, son Billy and granddaughter Jacqui on Friday, June 24th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment for Phyllis and Billy will follow at the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Phyllis M. (Hart) Brady, a lifelong resident of Everett, passed away peacefully in her home on Mother’s Day, May 8th. She was “in her 96th year”.
She is the beloved wife of the late William “Bill” G. Brady, Sr., who passed away in February of 2001. She was also predeceased by her sons: William G. Brady, Jr. in August of 2021 and Stephen R. Brady, Sr. in August of 2001. She is the loving mother of Michael P. Brady & his partner Gene Masella of Lynn, James A. Brady & his wife Kathy of Key West, Florida , and Phillip M. Brady of Everett & beloved daughter-in-law Claudia Lee of Malden. Devoted grandmother to Stephen Brady, Jr. of Billerica, Justin Brady & his wife Mandy of Billerica, Denise Peddle & her husband Andy Foster of Norton, Jacquleen Calder of Minnesota (who passed away last month in April), –plus her “babies”: Phyllis, Anjilique, and Shannon Brady of Malden. She is also lovingly survived by her great grandchildren: Andrew Foster, Taylor Calder, Beau Henderson, and Lillian, Cameron and Benjamin Brady. As the surviving member of her beloved siblings, Phyllis served as matriarch for the greater family of “Hart” nieces and nephews who remained close. “I had a good life”, Mother would often say. . Immediate funeral arrangements were held privately.

Lucille A. (Cardello) D’Agostino
Family & friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 11th in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St. Revere at 11:00 a.m. for Lucille A. (Cardello) D’Agostino, who died at her home in Revere following a brief illness, she was 83 years. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Lucille was born in Cambridge to her late parents, Samuel & Sarah (DiGregorio) Cardello. She was one of three children. She was raised & educated in Everett and was an alumni of Everett High School, Class of 1957. Lucille was a loving and devoted mother of her three children. She raised her children as a single mother and did it with love, determination, and care. Lucille worked at the City Bank in Boston for approximately 10 years. She later took a position in the Marketing Department for New England Life Insurance Company. Her career spanned 22 years, until she retired from there. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling extensively, especially throughout the Caribbean. She particulary loved Antigua and Turk & Caicos. Lucille was also known for her cooking. Her delicious homemade pasta and eggplant parmesan was legendary, and she taught anyone who wanted to learn how to make it. Her family was her heart & soul. She enjoyed spending her time with her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and her great granddaughter. Lucille was blessed to have had the enjoyment of her best friend, Prudence Reid for many years. The two of them traveled extensively and had fun along the way. She will be forever missed by everyone who loved her.

Cammella H. (Rossi) Mangino

(Rossi) Mangino, who died on Monday, May 2nd surrounded by her loving family at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness, she was 76 years old. All other services will be held privately.
Cammella was a native of Boston’s North End. She was born to the late Dominic & Gladys (Carlisle) Rossi. Cammella was raised & educated in Boston and as a young woman the family moved to East Boston, where Cammella remained for over 56 years until her passing. Cammella was a fun-loving mother who devoted herself to her three daughters. She later returned to the workforce when her children where older & worked various jobs. She later became a home health aide, and in doing so she also took a sign language class, to help communicate with some of her patients. She was very good at her job and made sure her patients knew that they were in good hands. She was full of life and energy and made everything fun & eventful. Cammella was always looking for adventure in any activity. She enjoyed singing Karaoke and dancing, usually at the Beachmont VFW. Cammella was also an avid Bingo player, it was one of her favorite activities. She was a very social person and made friends easily wherever she went. She loved her family unconditionally and being together was what she loved the most.
She is the beloved wife of the late Anthony Bentivegna & Robert Mangino. Loving mother of Josephine M. Spagnoli & her husband Louis A. of Marblehead, Teresa M. Helfer & her husband Robert M. of Revere & Kristin M. DiStefano & her husband Frank of Beverly. Cherished grandmother of Anthony P. Spagnoli & his wife Abbey Interrante of Alexandria, VA, Gabriella M. Golisano of East Boston, Brendon T. Helfer & Jamie M. Helfer, both of Revere. Dear sister of John L. Rossi of Dover, NH, Thomas J. Alice was born in Chelsea, to her parents George & Alice (Schwartz) Ritchie. She was raised & educated in Revere and was a proud alumna of Immaculate Conception High School, Class of 1951. She graduated first in her class. Alice was married to her husband Robert P. Farrell, Sr. The couple remained in Revere where together they raised their two children. Alice was a stay-at-home mother, after her children were of age, she began to work various jobs. She was most proud of taking care of her grandson, P.J. whom she adored. Alice was also a volunteer at the MGH – Revere on the beach. She was very active and walked four miles every day. She had a warm and sweet personality, and she possessed a loving & kind personality. She treasured her family & they her, she will forever be in their hearts.
She is the devoted wife of the late Robert P. Farrell, Sr. of 51 years. The loving mother of Eileen M. Mundis & her husband Paul S. of Revere & the late Robert P. Farrell, Jr. The cherished grandmother of Laura A. Douglass of Saugus, Michael R. Joe was born in Boston, raised in East Boston until the family moved to Revere when he was a young boy. He was educated in Revere and was an alumnus of Revere High School, Class of 1960. Joe followed directly into his father’s footsteps and worked at their family business, Decore Upholstery. The business that was started in the late 1930s in Boston where they manufactured furniture for the Design Trade. Joe and his twin brother eventually took over the business and continued to work alongside one another for many years. Joe retired at the age of 55, the business is still in operation under another generation. Joe retired down in Ft. Lauderdale, where he has been for the past 23 years. He enjoyed the weather, sunshine, golfing, and swimming in the pool. Joe enjoyed dining out in restaurants and was known for his cooking as well. Joe above anything else adored his two daughters and his grandchildren, they meant the world to him. He had a great personality and made many friends along the way.
He is the loving father of Kimberly A. Pergola of Saugus, & Patricia A. “Tricia” Prizio & her husband Revere Fire Capt. Thomas Prizio of Georgetown. Proud grandfather of Caryssa L. Johnson & her companion Gina Trites & Jerry L. Johnson, Jr., all of Saugus. Devoted son of the late Michael & Lena (D’Antona) Pergola. Dear twin brother of Vincent M. Jennie (Forti) DeMarco
Funeral Services and Interment were held privately on Saturday, April 23rd for Jennie (Forti) DeMarco, who died on Saturday, April 16th surrounded by her family. She was 90 years old. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Revere followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Jennie was a native to East Boston to her late parents, James V. & Anna (Peretti) Forti. She was raised and educated in East Boston and was an alum of East Boston High School, Class of 1949. Jennie was married to the love of her life, Pasquale E. DeMarco and moved to Revere in 1955. Jennie along with her husband raised their four children in the home they built together with years of love and hard work.
Among her many qualities, Jennie had an incredibly strong work ethic. Starting at a young age she worked at Bea’s Bakery in East Boston. Through the years she held many clerical positions at businesses such as Sears, New England Telephone, and Lester L. Burdick Insurance. Most notable was her 20-year tenure at the Shawmut Bank of Boston. As her children grew, Jennie concurrently started a second career in the Food Service Industry as a Server at the Chateau de Ville, Hilltop Steakhouse, The Executive Dining Room for Shawmut Bank, the Tavern in Boston, as well as a banquet waitress at many Boston based universities. Jennie’s career spanned over 50 years; she was an exceptional hard worker.
Jennie was the matriarch of her family and loved us all unconditionally. She was a wonderful cook and hosted many large holiday gatherings including extended family and friends. Her parties were legendary, her food unsurpassable. It was always important to her that all family including aunts, uncles, cousins, friends stay together, be together, and never lose touch. She was revered by the entire family as the ‘backbone,’ and to her, family was always first.
Jennie was a devout catholic and belonged to the Immaculate Conception parish of Revere. She was also an active member of Saint Anthony of Padua in Revere, often attending Novenas and Adoration at both churches. She would worship at many different churches always appreciating the architecture and the beauty of any church. Her strong faith gave her a sense of inner peace, which she shared with the community through her work as a Eucharistic Minister, visiting the sick and elderly at various nursing homes throughout Revere, and at the CHA Hospital in Everett where she would administer communion and conduct rosary groups. Her motivation to promote her faith was endless. Other retirement pleasures included Yoga, Tai Chi, Sudoku, and several trips to Sicily with her loving husband.
She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late Pasquale E. “Pat” DeMarco. Loving mother of Damian B. DeMarco & his wife Mary of Revere, David DeMarco & his wife Donna of Marlborough, Daria Saia & her husband Charles “Chuck” of Londonderry, NH & Deirdre Damiano, and her husband Stephen of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Daria C. Saia of Derry, NH, Stephen Damiano Jr. & his wife Jacqueline of Revere, AnnMarie Censullo & her husband Stephen of Londonderry, NH, Christopher Damiano of Revere, Salvatore C. Saia of Londonderry, NH, Nicholas D. DeMarco of New Bedford, Gina M. DeMarco of Brooklyn, NY & Sara DeMarco of Kingston, NH. Adored great-grandmother of Tresor, Gianna, Stephen III, & Jack Mario. Hazel R. (Brown) Smith

Hazel was born & raised in Everett to her late parents, Chester Brown, Sr. & Hazel M. (Wetmore) Brown. She was one of three children. Hazel was educated in Everett and was an alumna of Everett High School, Class of 1942. Hazel began to work at John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston as a Secretary. On June 13th, 1948, Hazel married her beloved husband, Richard J. Smith. The couple remained in Everett, at that time Hazel stepped away from the workforce to raise her two daughters. She was a devoted & dedicated mother & wife. She took great pride in her home and how she raised her girls. When the girls were grown, she returned to the workplace and took a secretarial position at General Electric where she retired from after 15 years of service. Hazel enjoyed going to Wonderland Racetrack & dining out at restaurants. Above all, she cherished her time being surround by her family.
She is the beloved wife of 28 years to the late Richard J. Smith. The loving mother of Deborah J. Smith of Peabody & Christine A. Smith & her companion John Martin of Quincy. She is the cherished grandmother of Melissa A. Quarleno of Peabody & Lisa M. Cronin & husband Jeremy of Boxford. The adored great grandmother of Mackennzie, Seamus, & Logan. The dear sister of the late Chester Brown, Jr. & Richard Brown. She is also lovingly survived by her former son-in-law John M. Quarleno of Wakefield and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews.
